In California and Texas, the constant threat of rolling blackouts due to an overreliance on wind and solar previews what is in store for the rest of the country if Democrats continue to target the fossil fuel industry. Every administration comes into office with a grand conception of what they would like to accomplish. In Biden’s case, far-left environ- mental activists were determined to make “climate change” a defin- ing issue of his presidency and end all domestic oil and gas production. However, when met with geopolitical reality, a good president amends his aspirational goals by taking the best course of action for the country at the given moment. Unfortunately, Biden and his allies in Congress appear content to toss
up their hands and claim that they bear no responsibility for high gas prices (even if they eagerly hope to take credit for any price decreases). So when gas prices inevitably go back up and costs force families to choose between putting food on the table and heating their homes, expect to see the Biden camp retreat back into their meticulously constructed castle of finger-pointing and denial. But what every American should remember is that it doesn’t have to be this way, and there is a better solu- tion if the country chooses the right leaders to embrace it.
