Managing Your Medicare Advantage (Medicare Part C) Plan
1. ANNUAL REVIEW: It’s a good practice to review your Medicare Advantage plan annually during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which occurs from October 15 to December 7. During this
period, you can make the following changes: Switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan.
Return to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) and enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan if your Medicare Advantage plan doesn’t include drug coverage. Make changes to your existing Part D prescription drug plan. 2. SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIODS (SEPS): You may qualify for Special Enrollment Periods under certain circumstances, such as: Moving to a new location. Losing other healthcare coverage. Gaining eligibility for Medicaid. Qualifying for a Medicare Savings Program. Experiencing a 5-star rating change in your plan (resulting in a 5-star SEP). 3. CONTACT YOUR PLAN: If you decide to make changes or have questions about your Medicare Advantage plan, get in touch with the plan provider or insurer directly. They can provide information on available plans, coverage details, and costs.
